Curry and gin pairing is how we're celebrating National Curry Week

It's National Curry week and what better way to enjoy a warm and spicy dish, than with a ice cold, refreshing gin and tonic? Also, a lot of the spices that are used in the making of our favourite dishes are seen regularly as the botanicals that are used to make our favourite gins - we just can't enough of these spices!
We have been thinking about all the different flavour combinations when it comes to matching the right gin with the right dish - so why not pop to your favourite takeaway tonight and try some of these pairings tonight?

The nation's favourite, chicken tikka masala works beautifully with gins that have notes of cardamom and clove. The mild, aromatic curry lends itself to a pungent gin with a spicy kick, so why add a fresh chilli as a garnish.

This rich and slightly hotter curry will go wonderfully with a gin offering sweeter notes of vanilla and honeysuckle, so go for buttery and creamy gins with a slight sweetness to cool the palate. A vanilla pod garnish would also work well with this pairing.

One of the more mild curries that is another British favourite. The warmth comes from the cumin and coriander, so this dish is best paired with gins that have notes of coriander and ginger to expand on the spices of the curry. The creamy coconut of the dish will also combine well a woody gin that offers notes of almond and chestnut.

This spicy and flavoursome vegetarian curry cries out for a zingy, zesty gin with notes of lime, grapefruit and orange. The earthy flavours of the spices and vegetables need that citrus to cut through them so we recommend a citrus garnish also.

Made with the naga chilli makes this curry 200 times hotter than a regular jalapeno or Tabasco sauce! We recommend anything cool with this...so a nice juniper, piney gin should help cut through the inferno.
