Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' drinks brands compete for the spotlight in a hilarious Valentine's video!
If you’ve been with us for a while here at Craft Gin Club, you’ll know we have followed the ginny news surrounding celebrity couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively for a while. Of course, anything remotely gin-related never escapes us!
First, Ryan Reynolds became a co-founder of Aviation Gin in 2018 (as well as launching an edition specifically for parents home-schooling during the pandemic), and excitingly, last October Blake Lively launched her very own premium drinks mixers called Betty Buzz, which perfectly complement her husband’s gin.
The famous couple are known for playing amusing pranks on each other on social media, so we couldn’t help but laugh out loud when we saw this funny post on Blake’s Instagram, promoting both brands this Valentine’s day…
In the comical video, there’s a light-hearted battle of the brands, with an Aviation gin truck saying ‘Driver does not carry cash, just Aviation Gin’ - (which gin lovers know is very precious cargo indeed!).
However, the truck quickly gets its airtime cut short by a second truck arriving, featuring Blake’s brand Betty Buzz with the tagline: ‘Boozes better half’. We love a good pun, here at Craft Gin Club - so we found this one genius!
The video has been very well received over on Instagram, with a comment from American actress Rita Wilson, saying, ‘This is so good!’ and nearly half a million likes. Seems like it’s time for Aviation Gin to step aside…
The two brands have also collaborated with a special Valentine’s recipe called the ‘The Happily Ginever After’ (what a great name!), which you can see below... We especially love the caption, which reads, ‘Something sweet for your bitter half this Spouse's Day. ✈️🍸’.
We can’t wait to get our hands on these mixers to see if they really are a match made in heaven…
You can't buy Betty Buzz mixers in the UK just yet (although they’ve already launched in British Airways’ US airport lounges), so for now feast your eyes on these incredible mixers! Let’s see what other gin-credible pranks happen next…
