The Blueberry Gin Mojito: a Supercocktail for this tasty little 'Superfood'!
We’ve taken the classic Mojito cocktail recipe and have given it more than a ginny twist by swapping the rum for gin and adding beautiful blueberries.
The rich flavours of gin and juicy, sweet berries are the perfect match for those bright, refreshing, citrusy, herbaceous flavours we love in a classic Mojito. Altogether they make for a stunning cocktail you are not going to be able to put down.
Give it a go…
Sky Wave White Horse London Dry Gin, Craft Gin Club’s March 2024 Gin of the Month, is the perfect gin for this cocktail recipe.
Made by The Sky Wave Distilling Co. in Oxfordshire, this gin is brimming with delicious floral flavours that complement both those mint and lime flavours, and the fragrant blueberry tones.
The blueberries bring their own sweet, tart fragrance that is simply divine. What’s more, blueberries are not just a great cocktail ingredient. They have high levels of antioxidants, have great nutritional benefits and are low in calories - they really are a “superfood”!
The soda water then adds a refreshing and clean fizz that’s the ideal canvas for all of the characters in this cocktail to harmonize.
Despite the alternative ingredients in this mojito recipe, the technique remains traditional. To make the cocktail, you start by muddling the fruit and herbs at the bottom of the glass.
You then add ice and the spirit, syrup and citrus juice and stir before filling the glass with more ice and topping off with the soda water and garnishes.
What you get is a cocktail that is impressive to look at and tastes just as good as it looks.
