Our après-ski-themed Gin of the Month box for January 2020 took its inspiration from the Alpine-inspired Gin of the Month, Altitude Gin, and its contents - from the beautiful paired tonics and mixers, to the delicious cocktail syrup, garnishes and snacks - have created an, um, “avalanche” of praise from Craft Gin Clubbers across the UK!

They’ve been busily sending us snaps of all their delicious cocktail creations and telling the world what they think of this month’s delicious Gin of the Month - and all of them will be in with a chance of winning free gin in our monthly Ginstagram competition, of course! Here are some of our favourites so far…

Craft Gin Clubber Nicholas sent us a pic of him enjoying his edition of GINNED! magazine, discovering all about his Gin of the Month, the Alps-inspired Altitude Gin, in the perfect setting - in Chamonix, with views out across Mont Blanc!

Where better to settle down with our glossy mag and an Altitude Gin to drink than overlooking the Alps?

What a scene! If you’re intrigued by what Nicholas was reading, you can find out more about how the founders of Altitude Gin were inspired by these mountains to create this unique spirit, and how the distillers are helping to protect them, here.

We have an inkling Craft Gin Clubber Neil enjoyed our Cocktail of the Month… we’re thrilled he loved it as much as we do!

Can winter last longer, so I can drink more of these?!A warm, gin-based apple cocktail from @craftginclub. It reminds me of last time I was in Austria and I had a warm apple cocktail that I could only describe as apple strudel in a glass, well, I could describe this in the same way. The warm apple with the taste of gin was perfect. Add to this the warming cinnamon stick and sourness from the lemon you get one lovely winter warmer. It really takes me back to the slopes.

We can’t be held accountable for Craft Gin Clubber Annabel’s gin-credible puns here, hehe! But we wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment…

The peak of perfection from @altitude_gin! Ah, where to start... Altitude, you’ve taken a piste of my heart (terrible joke 😂) but very very true! It’s not just the undeniable alpine flavours but the story behind Altitude is rather magical. Both neat and with the Italian tonic water, this gin is incredibly smooth and fresh. Citrusy notes of orange peel, coriander and aromatic pine balance beautifully with the herbaceous and sweet flavours of delicate elderflower and myrtille berries, finished with a touch of earthy and woody notes. Served in a copa glass, these powerful botanicals are able to breath and the crystal clear tonic and garnish opens up the gin perfectly.

Craft Gin Clubber Craig was inspired to ascend the peaks of the Scottish Highlands to enjoy a celebratory tipple of Altitude Gin and tonic at the top of Craigellachie, which overlooks Aviemore!

We can only imagine that Altitude Gin tastes even better after that kind of effort!

Meanwhile, Craft Gin Clubber Rosie told us she was getting embarrassed… we don’t think this is anything to be embarrassed about, Rosie - we’ve all been there!

Rosie’s take on the Perfect Serve for January 2020

A few nights ago I had my first taste of Altitude Gin, the Alpine Dry Gin featured in this month’s @craftginclub box! Honestly, I could have kept on drinking this G&T all night long. It was just so delicious and so easy to drink! The gin is super smooth and refreshing and the cinnamon stick added a beautiful sweet but spicy scent to it that just kept you wanting more. Luckily no one else was around when I drank it as it would have been embarrassing if anyone saw how quickly I finished it off. I promptly made myself a second glass and insisted my housemate joined me so I could show her how nice it was.
