We are in love with this refreshing, berry-liscious twist on the classic Italian Sgroppino cocktail.

Combining gin, raspberry sorbet and prosecco, this recipe is so easy to make at home and brimming with juicy berry flavours that pair so well with the rich gin and bright sparkling white wine tones.

Give it a go!

This fabulous cocktail recipe has its roots in Italy (you can find out more about the Sgroppino's origins at this link), so we think the gin you use should be Italian. And we have just the one: Gin Mezzanotte, Craft Gin Club's February 2024 Gin of the Month!

Gin Mezzanotte is made by Distilleria Mezzanotte using cocoa beans, orange and Makrut lime leaves, which give it this beautiful mix of zesty citrus notes and rich chocolatey tones.

They are the perfect match for the juicy raspberry sorbet in this recipe.

The sorbet itself fills the cocktail with incredible sweet-tart raspberry flavours that are luscious and vibrant. We just love how the ball of sorbet slowly melts into a delicious slush as you sip away at this cocktail.

Prosecco then adds more than bubbles to this recipe. With its crisp, clean white wine flavour profile it serves to contrast and elevate the depth of the gin and the fruity sorbet.

Altogether they give you an eye-catching red berry cocktail that has layers of delectable flavours and textures that are sure to impress even the most discerning cocktail connoisseurs.

Gin & Raspberry Sgroppino

raspberry Sgroppino cocktail recipe with gin and prosecco

50ml gin
1 scoop of raspberry sorbet*
Prosecco, to top
Fresh raspberries, to garnish

Add the gin to a coupe glass with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. Pour in the prosecco. Garnish serve and enjoy!

*To make an easy raspberry sorbet, heat 200g of sugar and 100ml of water in a pan until the sugar has completely resolved. Blend the resulting syrup with 500g of raspberries and the juice from one lime. Taste and add more citrus juice if the mix is too sweet. Place in a freezer and stir every hour for at least 4 hours.

Gin Mezzanotte is also fantastic in our Boozy Mocha coffee recipe. Take a look at this link...
