As any aficionado of Indian cuisine will know, the smooth and creamy yoghurt-based tipple that is the lassi is among some of the most wonderful beverages to come from India, along with the G&T and our September 2020 Gin of the Month, Stranger & Son’s Gin, of course.
Coming in both savoury and sweet flavours, lassis can be perfect for any occasion but are especially delicious with a good curry. That thick, milkshake-like texture is the best way to cool your tongue after a bite of something spicy! Our version combines the exotic fruit flavours of mango with the sweet and aromatic delights of honey. Both work so well the velvety yoghurt and the rich juniper, citrus and spice tones of a good gin.
Try out this amazing recipe at your next curry night or whenever you feel like indulging in a wonderfully tasty tropical cocktail. Enjoy!
40ml gin (Stranger & Son’s Gin is perfect for this recipe, but a fruity, citrus-forward tipple like Slingsby Marmalade Gin will also work really well!)
120g mango
140g yoghurt
10g honey
5 ice cubes
Spring of mint, to garnish
Combined all the ingredients in a blender with a cube of ice. Blend and serve in a Latte glass or a Tumbler. Garnish and serve.
If you love mango and tastes of Indian then you need to try this Mango Martini, it’s made with Mango Chutney!
