These tropical cocktails are bursting with the fruity flavours of kiwi, pineapple, mango and passion fruit!
SugarSin’s Fizzy Tropical Gummies, which we sent our members in their July 2020 Gin of the Month box, are bursting with bright fruity flavours that have inspired us to match each one with an amazingly easy cocktail recipe that will transport you to the sunshine shores of the tropics.
Whether your favourite flavour of these delectable gourmet sweeties is kiwi, passion fruit, mango or pineapple we have a got a cocktail recipe that will match it perfectly!
Gin-a-Colada
Creamy and vibrant, when someone says pineapple we think Gin-a-Colada - as any cocktail lover would, of course. Differing from our August 2019 Cocktail of the Month, this recipe uses coconut milk to divine effect.
Ingredients
50ml gin (we recommend something with complex citrus-forward like Sibling Triple Distilled Gin to match the zing of the pineapple)
120ml pineapple juice
60ml coconut cream
Fresh pineapple wedge, to garnish
Method
Pour all of your ingredients into a chilled hurricane glass. Stir and garnish with your pineapple. It couldn’t be easier!
Mango & Gin Daiquiri
Adding gin to this summery cocktail is the perfect way to give yourself a frozen treat this summer. Using fresh mango is the best match the amazing natural flavours of SugarSin’s Fizzy Tropical Gummies.
Ingredients
50ml gin (the orange and spice of Gin 1689 is delightful in this cocktail)
250g mango, diced
100g crushed ice
Juice of half a lime
A sprig of mint, to garnish.
Method
Blend the mango, gin, lime juice and ice. Taste. Depending on the ripeness of your mango you may need to add 15ml of simple syrup to give the cocktail a sweeter touch. Pour into a glass and garnish with the mint.
To make simple syrup: Add 100g of sugar to 100ml of water and stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Cool before using.
Porn Star Martini
Fruity and flavourful, every sip of this passion fruit martini recipe is a party for your taste buds - just like SugarSin’s passion fruit flavoured gummies! Traditionally made with vodka, gin adds a deliciously rich and nuanced flavour to this incredible cocktail.
Ingredients
60ml gin (a good navy strength like Elephant Strength Gin works brilliantly here)
15ml Passoa Liqueur (a passion fruit flavoured liqueur available at Tesco and ASDA)
15ml vanilla syrup
15ml lime juice
Seeds of half a passion fruit
Champagne, to top
Method
For the vanilla syrup: Add the seeds of one vanilla pod and the pod itself to the 100g of sugar and 100ml of water. Stir on medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool, then remove the pod.
Add ice to a shaker. Then add the gin, Passoa Liqueur, vanilla syrup, lime juice and passion fruit seeds to the shaker and stir well. Strain into a martini glass and top up with champagne.
Kiwi Mojito
Usually made with rum, gin adds something special to this Kiwi Mojito recipe. Sip away as you nibble the kiwi flavoured gummies in your packet of SugarSin’s Fizzy Tropical Gummies.
Ingredients
50ml gin (Amázzoni Gin, with its herbaceous aromas, is perfect for this cocktail)
10ml sugar syrup
6 mint leaves
Half a kiwi peeled and diced as finely as possible
Lime wedge
Crushed iced
A sprig of mint, to garnish
Lime wheel, to garnish
Soda, to top up
Method
Muddle the gin, sugar syrup, mint leaves, kiwi and lime wedge in the bottom of your glass. Add your ice, almost filling the glass. Top up with soda water. Stir well then garnish and serve.
