These four Cooler cocktail recipes are the perfect winter refreshment!
Traditionally served in a tall glass filled with crushed ice and almost always made with a fruit element and topped up with something fizzy, we love a Cooler here at Craft Gin Club HQ - even in the middle of winter.
It’s a classic cocktail that never fails to leave us feeling refreshed, especially when made with our favourite tipple - gin, of course.
For that all-important “something fizzy”, few beverages can match the wonderful drinks from PURA Soda. They are deliciously fragrant and vibrant, yet well-balanced so there’s no fear of them overpowering your gin. And with PURA’s commitment to using low amounts of sugar and no artificial colourants or sweeteners, it’s a mixer that’s wonderfully guilt-free.
You have to give these four recipes a go. They are just divine!
Cranberry Cooler
Nothing says winter like the delectably tart, warm taste of cranberry that PURA Soda Cranberry is bursting with. It works so well with the complex juniper notes of gin and the sumptuously savoury garnish of sage in this wonderful cocktail. A glug of grenadine then adds a delicious sweetness and gives the cocktail a stunning two-tone effect. Yum!
Ingredients
50ml gin
PURA Soda Cranberry, to top up
10ml grenadine
Sage and cranberries, to garnish
Method
Add your grenadine to the bottom of the glass and then fill the glass with ice. Add the gin and the PURA Soda. Garnish and serve.
Cucumber Cooler
This cocktail is cool as a cucumber. The beautifully-balanced cucumber and lime fragrances of PURA Soda Cucumber & Lime, which we sent to our members in their January 2021 Gin of the Month box, work so well with the rich juniper of the gin in this fabulous cocktail. They are then elevated by the fresh cucumber and mint garnishes that adorn this gorgeous tipple.
Ingredients
25ml Gin
125 PURA Soda Cucumber & Lime
Fresh mint leaves and cucumber, to garnish
Method
Fill a highball glass with lots of ice. Add your gin, top up with PURA Soda and garnish.
Pomegranate & Orange Cooler
The sweet, tart pop of pomegranate seeds and woody herb notes of rosemary are the perfect partner to the warm orange citrus flavours of PURA Soda Saville Orange. The gin then adds a lovely rich backdrop that will have you making one after another.
Ingredients
25ml gin
5ml lime juice
125ml PURA Soda Seville Orange
Pomegranate seeds, to garnish
Rosemary and orange slices, to garnish (optional)
Method
Add your gin, lime juice, soda and pomegranate seeds to a highball glass and fill with ice. Garnish and serve.
Winter Cooler
Sloe gin is made bright and even more delightful by PURA Soda Ginger & Lemonade in this wintery cocktail recipe that includes a slice of pear and a sprig of fresh thyme. They add a mouth-watering mix of herb and orchard fruit flavours to this wonderful tipple.
Ingredients
25ml sloe gin
5ml lime juice
125ml PURA Soda Ginger & Lemon
A sprig of thyme, to garnish
A slice of pear, to garnish
Method
Add your pear slice to a highball glass. Add the sloe gin, lime juice and top up with PURA Soda Ginger & Lemon, then add ice. Garnish and serve.
