We bet you haven't tried these trailblazing discovery gins!
We love searching far and wide to find beautiful, out-of-the-ordinary-gins that you won’t find elsewhere. Whether it’s a craft gin with flamboyant flavours, distilled in a special way (like our mulberry-aged gin), or using daring botanicals (oyster gin, anyone?), you’ll always get something different from our Discovery Gins.
What is a Discovery Gin?
In addition to the Gin of the Month we send to Craft Gin Clubbers every month, our panel of experts select an adventurous Discovery Gin for connoisseurs looking for something special.
This month, we’re taking a look back at some of our true trailblazer craft gins…
Cherry Moon Gin
When we say this gin is out of this world, we mean it!
Our Discovery Gin in April 2020, this pink gin is distilled with a rock from the moon. Yes, really.
This pink craft gin is infused with moon meteorite and during distillation, has lunar rock added to the botanicals. We bet you haven’t tried a gin like this before!
This cherry-infused gin is wonderfully fruity and sweet. And with no added sugar and a high ABV, it’s got enough balance to turn those gin fans that are unsure of pink gins into a total pink gin enthusiast!
The Apiarist Gin
Made in Lichfield, this gorgeously golden-hued gin was our March 2021 Discovery Gin.
It all began with beekeeping becoming a much-loved hobby, and this honey-infused gin is simply mouthwatering.
It captures the freshness of the British countryside wonderfully, making it perfect for sipping during the spring and summer months.
Not only that, one of the botanicals is Da Hong Pao tea - the most expensive tea in the world.
Better still, all the profits that are made from the gin go straight back into the apiary. So it’s a jolly good sip!
Comte de Grasse 44° Gin
If you’re after a luxurious craft gin, look no further than our April 2021 Discovery Gin.
Sophisticated and complex, this tipple is made on the stylish French Riviera by French distillers Comte de Grasse. Ooer!
Inspired by the Mediterranean, it uses methods similar to perfume production (Grasse is known as the perfume capital of the world, after all!).
This special gin captures the wonderful floral, spice and citrus flavours of France’s southern coastline.
It makes the perfect gin gift, as it’s a total gin treat! Just think of the brownie points…
Pink Marmalade Gin,
Sophie Ellis-Bextor Edition
“Marmalade gin?!” We hear you say.
You read that right! This colour-changing gin was our July 2021 Discovery Gin and will have you shaking your tailfeathers.
Want to know more about colour-changing gin? Read here.
Created by Pink Marmalade Gin, they’ve partnered with singer, songwriter, and music sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Known for her virtual disco parties throughout the pandemic, she now has a bold, citrus, small-batch gin that is perfect for party time.
We love that it turns from lilac to pink when you add tonic, mixers or ice. It’ll certainly impress your gin pals!
