Dandelion and Burdock with gin?! This cocktail tastes amazing!
You are definitely familiar with gin and tonic, gin and soda, gin and lemonade, and gin and ginger ale. You may even be familiar with gin and coke. But have you ever tried mixing Dandelion and Burdock with your favourite gins?
One taste of this delicious Dandelion and Burdock and gin cocktail and you will be hooked!
That’s right, gin and Dandelion and Burdock make for a fantastic pair! The fizzy soft drink’s mix of fruity tones and earthy touches of liquorice and aniseed compliment the juniper-rich complexity of a good craft gin wonderfully.
For this cocktail, we have added brown sugar, fresh lime and a dash of Angostura Bitters. The sugar and lime add incredible sweet and sour notes to the cocktail, while the Bitters add a hint of spice that is delectably moreish.
Which gin should I use for this cocktail? We recommend using Shivering Mountain Gin Early Harvest Edition, Craft Gin Club’s March 2022 Gin of the Month. It has a gorgeous mix of berry, floral and delicate spice flavours that complement the sweet, spicy and sour mix of the other ingredients in the most scrumptious way.
Gin Dandelion & Burdock
50ml Shivering Mountain Gin Early Harvest Edition
½ lime
1 tsp brown sugar
Dash of Angostura Bitters (optional)
Dandelion & Burdock, to top up
Lime slice, to garnish
Cut your lime into quarters and add to a highball glass. Add your gin, sugar and bitters and muddle together. Add ice, then top with dandelion and burdock and garnish to serve.
