There’s something about the seeing those first Starbucks Red Cups arrive every November that fills us with the first spark of holiday glee - and that’s nothing compared to when we finally get to indulge in one of these creations from their winter holiday menu, brimming with sugar (caramelised chestnuts), spice (dustings of nutmeg) and all things nice (white chocolate and peppermint, which might just be the DREAMIEST pairing!)
Now while we might have had less opportunity to pick up one of these seasonal favourites this year, that hasn’t stopped us thinking about their fabulous flavours, so of course it made perfect sense to add them to our favourite thing: gin!
Keep reading to discover 6 fabulous Starbucks Christmas drink cocktails for the holiday season!
The gin flip is a classic creamy cocktail made with gin, whole egg, nutmeg and cream that’s equal parts dessert and drink. We’ve given it a festive flip by adding orange liqueur and a big heaping of caramel sauce like the Caramel Brulée latte; this one is just as good hot or cold!
Hazelnut and apple make an unusual but winning combination in this fruity cocktail, sweetened up by Frangelico liqueur and creamy, vanilla notes of thick caramel sauce to give it those Toffee Nut flavours, with a touch of sour lemon to beautifully round it out.
This showstopper martini features a red and white rim of peppermint candy-cane for a festive touch to this creamy gin cocktail, made with white chocolate liqueur and peppermint syrup just like a White Peppermint Mocha. What’s more, you don’t even need to buy the syrup as we’ve included an easy at-home recipe made using peppermint tea bags!
This Christmas cocktail takes inspiration from the classic Espresso Martini recipe, with an indulgent, festive twist! Sweet, spicy gingerbread syrup instead of coffee liqueur, real cream (for an Irish coffee-style topping) and an aromatic sprinkle of spice make this the boozy gingerbread latte of your dreams!
Whether you’re a seasoned eggnog lover or new to the scene, you have to give this creamy classic Christmas cocktail a go! Rich and sweet with festive spices and the same sprinkling of nutmeg, and a deep boozy kick, it’s best described as a “boozy melted Christmas icecream.” Thank us later!
This beautiful little number is a twist on a classic Gin Alexander cocktail (featuring equal parts gin, creme de cacao and cream. We’ve swapped out the white chocolate for hazelnut or walnut liqueur here to mimic reminisce the nuttiness of the chestnut paired with single cream, to give a smooth and silky texture. A little sprinkle of biscoff biscuit on top gives you that beautiful Chestnut Praline topping!
