Rosé cider and gin come together in this gorgeous pink cocktail recipe!
This beautiful, wonderfully sour pink gin cocktail recipe has a truly special rosé cider at its centre: Galipette Cidre Rosé, which Craft Gin Club sent to members in their February 2023 Gin of the Month box.
The semi-dry flavour profile of Galipette Cidre Rosé has wonderful touches of acidity and a delicious savouriness that comes from a variety of apples, including the red-fleshed Pomme à Chair Rouge (which lends the cider its rosé colour), which all work so well with the complex, rich profile of London dry gin in this cocktail recipe.
The lemon juice then adds its delightful sour tang and the sweet simple syrup rounds all of the flavours out wonderfully.
Garnish with lemon and rose petals to add to the fragrance of the cider and you are in for a real treat.
What makes Galipette’s cider so special?
Part of one of the oldest apple cooperatives in France, which brings together four hundred producers from across Normandy and Brittany, all committed to cultivating exceptional cider apples while also remaining respectful to the environment, Galipette Cidre pours only the highest-quality, pure French apple juice into their ciders (they use absolutely no concentrates!).
Their Rosé edition is no different. And, just like all of Galipette’s ciders, it’s made using a centuries-old method of keeving, passed down by generations of French artisans. This traditional process involves slow, wild fermentation, which allows the cider to retain an authentic natural sweetness.
